Family owned and operated H. Morris Funeral Services have been taking care of North Shore families for over 75 years. Initially established in 1933 in Devonport by Harry and Francis Morris, H. Morris Funeral Services are the most well established and leading Funeral Company on the North Shore. In fact Funeral Director and owner, Ray Jagger, is one of the most experienced and respected directors in the Auckland region, and New Zealand.

Today H. Morris Funeral Services is owned by Ray & Pat Jagger and together with Philip Jagger (Ray & Pat’s son), Luke Metcalfe, Nelson Elliott , Cordelia Hunt, and David Wilkinson they make up the team of dedicated Funeral Professionals. Hazel James (Ray and Pat’s daughter) is our Secretary and Catering Manageress.

Ray joined H. Morris Funeral Services in 1965 when Pat and Ray came to New Zealand from the UK. Ray has a family history of funeral directing in the UK. He has seen the business grow over the last 40 plus years.

When Ray and Pat purchased H. Morris Funeral Services in 1994 they set about moving to a new and improved location. The peaceful surroundings of the Northcote premises made it ideal for the growing direction of the business and for continuing the H. Morris Funeral Services tradition within a more modern setting.

Named the Romaleigh Funeral Home, the premises were renovated and the new home of H. Morris Funeral Services opened its doors for service in January 1995. Today the serene home consists of a fully air conditioned chapel which is appropriate for either small intimate funerals or larger funerals. The Chapel opens up into a reception lounge which further extends outdoors onto a covered deck-area overlooking beautiful native bush where there are a number of native birds who come to pay us a visit.

H. Morris Funeral Services are the trusted name in funeral care on the North Shore and also Auckland wide, combining traditional family values with a modern input. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, - all calls are always answered by one of our team (NO answering services for our company!). We believe in “thinking outside of the square” as we have learnt over the years grief is very personal and each and every family has different needs and ideas about how they want to say their final goodbye to their loved one. Our team take time to care and listen and then do everything within their power to ensure our client families' requests are adhered to and they have a funeral service which honours their loved one’s life.
